Clifford T. Burgess, Jr., CDR, USN (Ret.)

An NRA Benefactor Member, Clifford Burgess has served 25  years with the NRA in the Office of the Treasurer and Office of Advancement. He helped implement the NRA FIREARMS FOR FREEDOM Program and has served as its Manager since 2010.

Prior to working at NRA, he retired from a distinguished career as a Commander in the United States Navy, including a combat tour with the Marine Corps in Vietnam.

Commander Burgess has 62 years of shooting and weapons experience from a .22 rifle at age 12 to naval gunnery and nuclear weapons. He is an avid hunter of Wild Turkey, Deer, Grouse and Water Fowl, enjoys all type of clay bird shooting, and collects and shoots vintage shotguns. He has also been a Virginia Hunter Educator for 27 years and conducts seminars on Wild Turkey Hunting for youth.
